It came in second last in terms of the cost for protein content, just beating out Methoxy Pro.

Many users have had positive reviews on NitroTech. If you’ve used Nitro Tech, please share your review of it here. But before you go out and buy some for yourself, you should read the rest of this review.

97% Whey Protein Isolate? Don’t Be Fooled!

In every single Nitro Tech ad, you’ll see this line: “SynthePro is an exclusive blend of whey protein including whey peptides and a new 97% whey protein isolate”. Wow! Doesn’t that sound great? A whooping 97% whey protein isolate content! Well, not really… If you’ve read our article explaining the difference between Whey protein isolate and concentrate, you’ll know that Whey protein isolate costs a lot more than concentrate. A protein supplement containing 97% whey isolate is gonna cost you an arm and a leg!

Muscletech NitroTech isn’t 97% whey protein isolate. It just means that the isolates used are 97% protein, not 97% whey protein isolate. This reported percentage is also on a dry basis, which means the isolates in Nitro Tech is 97% protein after all moisture is removed. In general, protein products has 4 to 8% moisture, which means on an “as-is basis”, Nitro Tech could have less than 90% protein content.

I think this needed some clearing up, as many people believe that NitroTech is almost all pure whey protein isolate. It’s a mix of whey isolate and concentrate, like most other whey protein supplements - to keep the cost down.

Muscle Tech Nitro-Tech Shake Taste Test

NitroTech comes in 3 standard flavors: chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. It has a pretty decent taste (I’ve only tried chocolate so far), and many other users have had some positive reviews on its taste.

Quality-wise, I don’t think Nitro Tech is a standout from the rest of the protein supplements. It’s not made of pure whey isolate as some might think, and it has a pretty standard line-up of ingredients and amino acids like Glutamine, Leucine, Arganine, Phenylalanine, and it also has some creatine as well.

Each serving of Nitro Tech has 110 calories, 1.5g fat, 3g carbs and 20g protein.

All around us we see different protein supplement advertisements. I feel so bad to see huge amounts of false conceptions about the protein supplementation. If you’ve been trying to get in shape and build muscles for a while, you surely realized that all protein sources are not the same in terms of enhancing muscle mass growth..

The point I’m making here is simple. If you are after the best possible results, you will be pleased to learn than no other protein supplement is shown in research to provide more benefits to athletes than whey isolate. The latest research on whey reveals why whey isolate provides incredible edge for optimizing results from training. Best results are coming from using best muscle building materials.

Recent research showed that formulation of whey isolate protein is tailor-made to speed the muscle growth process during training but in same time to promote healthy immune function during this period of metabolic stress. High levels of amino acids stimulate massive increases in muscle protein synthesis rates as results of intense resistance training. Increasing muscle protein synthesis rates is the key to greater strength and bigger muscles.

However, the dose and composition of the amino acids determine the degree of muscle growth stimulation.
And here comes something what you will be pleased to learn. Hydrolyzed whey isolates possess the absorption kinetics and the amino acid profile that is considered by scientists to be best for muscle growth stimulation. 8 amino acids are effective for stimulating muscle growth.

However, the branch chain amino acids (BCAAs) are considered the most powerful. Particularly, leucine is now understood to be of tremendous importance for increasing lean muscle mass. Leucine plays a key role in igniting the pathways that accelerate protein synthesis and muscle growth. A rich supply of leucine to muscle after training provides greater stimulation of protein synthesis, thus promoting faster recovery and speeding the actual muscle growth process.

Digestion and absorption of a protein are critical to producing high levels of amino acids in the blood to stimulate the muscle growth process. Hydrolyzed, short chain (oligopeptides) whey isolates are shown to be absorbed faster and in greater amounts compared to other proteins. I hope you know that dieting and intense exercise cause an undesirable competition between muscle and the immune system for a limited amount of glutathione.

Low glutathione levels correlate with poor exercise performance. Supplementation with hydrolyzed whey isolate provides a rich source of cysteine that boosts glutathione concentrations and helps you obtain better results from exercise. So whatever protein supplement you are using I think the best would be if you check on this few points. If you start using any whey isolate protein and you apply proven muscle building nutrition and system, you will advance very, very fast. I have my own experience but also so many testimonials of other people reconfirming this.

What about the fat loss? This is generally unknown but may be of great use too. A high protein intake is most important for effective fat loss results. While protein is the most satiating macronutrient, recent research shows that whey may be the most effective form of protein to consume during periods of calorie restriction.

Supplementation with whey provides a powerful appetite-suppressive effect. Clinical trials reveal that people who consume whey before a meal are more satisfied from consuming less food. For people that are restricting their calorie intake to lose body fat, whey isolate supplementation curbs the appetite and satisfies hunger while consuming fewer calories. Supplementation with whey isolate will help control appetite and make dieting much easier.

It is clear from research that no other protein supplement is shown to provide more benefits to athletes than whey isolate. In bodybuilders, whey isolate is shown in research to build slabs of healthy, strong, lean muscle

By: April Claeyssens

So what do you really need to know about protein powder? As a skinny guy or beginner to the whole bodybuilding scene you simply want to know a few answers. Is protein powder necessary? Does it really work? How much do I need? What kind should I take? What is the best? And finally, will any of these answers make a difference when it comes to getting jacked and attracting the ladies?

Is Protein Powder really necessary?

So, although protein supplements are not an absolute requirement for gaining mass, I have yet to meet any person able to get 400 grams of protein per day from cooking food. If your protein intake is greater than 200 grams per day I will suggest a protein powder - it will make your life a lot easier.

In addition, dollar for dollar, protein powders and meal replacement drinks tend to be more cost effective than whole food. Supplement means an addition to the diet. I emphasize this because the focus of any diet should be food. Whole food is often preferable to powders because it can offer a whole spectrum of nutrients that powders cannot.

The bottom line is that both food and supplements are necessary to achieve a complete nutritional balance as well as the desired level of protein intake, especially if you’re not a big fan of cooking. And I assume that over 95% of you reading this do not have a personal maid at home cooking all your meals while you sit around waiting for your next meal. Do not make the fatal mistake of thinking protein powders can take the place of a solid training and nutrition program.

Do protein powders really work and are they healthy?

Is protein powder going to help me get muscular or is it a scam?” A better question would be, “Does protein really work?” and the obvious answer is ‘yes’. Protein also:

- Supports red blood cell production
- Boosts your immune system
- Keeps your hair, fingernails, and skin healthy

However, not all protein powder is created equal. Most protein powder contains an array of questionable ingredients such as aspartame, saccharin, fructose and artificial colors. It’s interesting to note how unhealthy most of these protein powders actually are. Look for a protein powder with natural ingredients rather than products that are sweetened with chemicals and made with ingredients that are certainly not going to create an environment for muscle growth and fat burning.

Most protein powders mix quite easily, even with a spoon, however I was disappointed to discover that taste will inevitably be sacrificed for a safe and healthy product. I can live with this. You see, once a product is removed of all artificial chemical sweeteners such as aspartame or sucralose, and simple sugars, it is left almost tasteless and sometimes even gross.

How much protein powder do I need?

A better question would be, “How much pure protein do I need to achieve my goals?”

Protein is an extremely important macro nutrient and should be eaten frequently throughout the day. I recommend at least 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of lean body mass. This means that if you are 150 pounds and 10% body fat (150 x 0.10 = 15 lbs of fat leaving 135 lbs of lean mass), you will require at least 135 to approximately 205 grams of protein per day.

It is recommended that protein powder be used primarily for your pre-workout, workout and post-workout shake. This is when liquid food is more advantageous over whole food since it has a faster absorption rate.

What kind of protein powder should I use?

For the Pre-workout and Post-workout phases, as long as whey hydrolysate is the first or second ingredient on the supplement label then there is probably not enough in the product to influence protein synthesis to reap the optimal benefits. As stated, whey isolates are also a extremely high quality whey and for maximal anabolism isolates should be combined with whey hydrolysates for only the pre-workout and post-workout phases of your program. The inclusion of small amounts of whey concentrates will not harm you but this should not be the first ingredient on the tub of protein powder.

If you are looking for the strongest protein powder to exploit your full growth potential during the growth and recovery phases (any time other than pre and post workout period) then use a blend.

You should familiarize yourself with the basics of protein powder and give yourself a foundation to work from. Don’t get caught up in the hype and start becoming a more educated consumer when you take your next trip to the nutrition store. Now you can tell the sales rep exactly what you are looking for instead of staring blankly at the shelves without a clue!

Weight training is hard work but if you’re not getting enough protein, you’re spinning your wheels. There are many supplements on the market. There are pills, there are drinks, powders and there are even protein bars. It can be hard to find the best protein supplement for muscle building but you can make it easier by knowing what you’re looking for. What would constitute the best protein supplement for muscle building? Well, first of all, you want to find the best tasting protein supplement so that you actually look forward to eating or drinking it. You don’t want to be disgusted by it or else you won’t take it as often as you need to. The good news is that there are many protein supplements out there that taste great, with many different flavors to choose from. However, when looking for the best protein supplement for muscle building, you want to look for much more than just taste.

Sugar

Your body needs certain nutrients in order to build muscle. You’ll need protein, carbs and you’ll also need a little bit of healthy fats. You don’t need sugar. Your body doesn’t require sugar at all. The good news is that you can find many of the best protein supplements for muscle that don’t contain any sugar and they still taste great. So if you find a protein supplement that contains a lot of sugar, don’t buy it as sugar will only make you fat and that’s not what you want when you’re trying to build a nice physique.

Now that you know to stay away from sugar, you’ll want to look for a supplement that contains the most amount of protein with the least amount of carbs and fat. The best protein supplement for muscle building will also have certain muscle building enzymes and other ingredients included; making them the ultimate muscle building supplements.

How To Buy

You can buy your best protein supplement for muscle building at your local nutrition store or you can buy it over the internet. If you’re working out hard and using the best protein supplement for muscle building often, you’ll likely buy tub after tub of the stuff. This can get very expensive over time so you’ll want to look for the best deals. Search around and do your homework and you’ll be able to get the protein you need without breaking your bank account.

Video: Chris from BodySupps.com.au - The Truth About Six Pack Abs

Many programs offer the quick and easy path to a great body, but it is the programs that redefine how you view your own fitness and health, and cover the fundamental changes that are required in the foods that you shop for, the meals and snacks your eat, how often and when you eat, basically, what foods go into your mouth, are the programs that make lasting differences to your health and fitness. Basically, your food intake and weight loss are like managing the financial books of your family or a business. If you spend more then what you earn then you will have debt. If you eat more calories then you burn, then you are likely to put on weight in the form of body fat if this inbalance is maintained.

Mike Geary, a personal fitness expert, walks us through how to shop for food, what foods to eat, what snacks to have, how often to eat, in the first part of his eBook “The Truth About Six Pack Abs”. Then he suggests a number of exercises to do to continue the process of losing body fat. We all have abs, it’s just covered with a layer of fat. I am sure you will get a lot out of his eBook.

By: Shaun Parker

The most important thing to keep in mind when you are embarking on a new training schedule is to make it personal. It must be catered to your needs and be based on your abilities and targets; not the targets of your lazy housemate or the abilities of that big bloke down the gym who can lift small cars. Nevertheless it is important to remember to make your routine varied to include all parts of your body.

You may be embarking on a new training schedule to improve one aspect of your body i.e. to achieve larger biceps or tighter thighs. However it is important that your workout is balanced. It must include a range of activities to benefit your whole body. You can’t just opt for exercises you are good at and neither can you choose to just work on the exercises that you are not very good at. Variety is the spice of life and is also the key to a healthier body. From within a balanced training schedule it is then easy to shift to focus on the particular aspect of your body that you want to improve.

A training schedule should include work on all aspects of your body, chest, back, abdominals, shoulders, legs, biceps, triceps and your cardiovascular system. This means that even if you are focussed solely on building bulk through weight training you must try to include aerobic exercises such as running or cycling as this will supplement your programme. Conversely if you are a runner and you want to focus solely on developing your cardiovascular system it is important to include specific exercises on the parts of your body that you might not initially consider such as upper body work.

It is also crucial to schedule time off in your training schedule. Although you may feel like you are benefitting by doing exercises every day of the week this might not be the case. The body needs time to recover after exercise and this recovery time can be as beneficial as exercise. It is also important to be aware that overuse and over doing it can be damaging to your body. You may or may not believe in the old saying ‘no pain no gain’ but it is important to be aware that too much of a good thing can cause you damage.

The best way to avoid overuse and the potential damage this can cause is to organise your training schedule to alternate between different muscle groups. A general rule of thumb is that you should not exercise the same muscle group on two analogous days. That is to say if you have worked your chest muscles on one day it is important to give them a rest the following day. In this case you may choose to work a different group of muscles instead such as the leg muscles.

It is also important to include days of complete rest from training. A typical weekly schedule for someone wanting to improve their general fitness might be as follows: Day 1 - Chest, back, abdominal muscles and 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. Day 2 - rest from training. Day 3 - Biceps, triceps, Abdominal Muscles and 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. Day 4 - rest from training. Day 5 - Shoulders, Legs, Abdominals and 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. Day 6 and day 7 - rest from training. Please note that the abdominal muscles are used a great deal for all of our physical activities and will benefit from the greater amount of training.

A key part of your training should be your diet. It is essential that you eat the right quantities of food. Protein supplements can be taken to supplement your diet for training. Add a good diet to your balanced schedule and you will achieve the maximum results from your efforts.

If you are considering using one of the many low calorie diets out there to lose weight, then you should think again.

On the face of it a low calorie diet seems to make sense. I mean the reason that you are probably overweight is because you are storing excessive calories as fat. It seems to make sense that if you drastically cut back on calories, you will lose weight.

The problem here is that your body is basically a survival organism. Everything that your body does is aimed at keeping you moving and keeping you alive. If your body is used to eating a certain amount of calories and if you then go ahead and drastically cut back on calories, your body will react by slowing down your ability to burn calories. It will do this because the message it is recieving, is not that you are trying to lose weight, but that you are in the process of starving, and your body will react by hanging on to calories, it won’t care that you are trying to lose them.

This is why so many people who go on low calorie diets, find that they lose some weight at the start, and then the weight loss stops after a few weeks. They then think that the diet is no good, and give up using it. The assumption that the diet is not working is the right assumption, but not for the reasons that people think. A low calorie diet is a temporary method, and you can guarantee that any lost weight will return.

This method is not only a waste of time and effort, but it gives you a negative mindset about losing weight. This means that each time you try to lose weight, you will approach it with the belief that you will not succeed, because you have always failed in losing weight in the past.

If you really want to lose weight, then you have to forget about low calorie diets and any other quick fixes. Let’s face it, if these types of diets worked, you wouldn’t be reading this. There are ways that you can successfully lose weight and keep it off. It is question of having a structured plan consisting of diet, exercise, and activity. The secret is not to rush things. Simply put, using sensible methods and sensible time frames will allow you not to only succeed in losing weight, but it will it will allow you to keep the weight off for good.

At the end of the day it is your choice. You can keep doing the same things and continue getting the same results. If you want to get different results, then it makes sense to say that you will have to do something different. At the end of the day you are just banging your head against the wall using low calorie diets.
